Unframed work

A Pair of Parrots - waiting for the framer...

Bright Hydrangea - also waiting for the framer...

Both are water colours.

Framed Work

I have given this piece the title of -Trillium Mass.
It's a water colour and I'm really rather pleased with it..
£195

This is the commission framed up, double-mounted and non-reflective glass.
Rather a large piece which will look good over the Edwardian fireplace for which it is destined.
The client was thrilled with it - what a relief!

I am particularly pleased with this little Paeony.
My technique does seem to be improving and I am much encouraged...
£125

Tulips - what else???
£175

Commission

This week I have completed a commission for a friend who is opening an upmarket B&B in the village.

The house is early Edwardian and has many original features.

This picture is to go above the fire in one of the rooms and  I hope it will go well with the tiles that are part of the cast iron fireplace.

I chose to create a textured background which I think is more interesting than a flat wash on such a large area and I have been very pleased with the way the lilies turned out.

It is due at the framer's at the end of the week. I shall then be on tenterhooks until it is
delivered and  - hopefully - admired....

This is what the tiles look like.

The small butterfly in the bottom left-hand corner is a lovely touch...

Moonraking

At the moment I am sitting in my studio waiting for the lanterns of Moonraking to pass by.

The whole of this week has seen much activity and excitement as everyone has been working towards today.

Lanterns have been created and much making and practising of music has gone on.

The procession should pass us at about 8ish and we have the best vantage point in the whole village I think from the back of the studio looking over the wall as the procession moves towards us. Because of this we tend to get a lot of visitors with bottles dropping in....
